Talk:
On-line Computing in the Big Data Age

On-line computing has been largely a domain of data-intensive scientific experiments, such as particle colliders, which require sophisticated acquisition and rapid pre-processing of raw signals. In the Big Data age, the challenges of live streamed data processing become commonplace. This overview will give a brief introduction to the background and modern challenges of on-line computing.
