Kyle Chard is a Senior Researcher and Fellow in the Computation Institute at the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. His research focuses on applying computational and data-intensive approaches to solve scientific problems. He co-leads the Globus labs research group with the aim to make research data reliably, rapidly, and securely accessible, discoverable, and usable. His research interests include autonomic computing and cost-aware cloud provisioning to make use of on-demand infrastructure; service oriented science, as part of the Globus project; and information extraction and analytics. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington in 2011.
